Opening Day: November 11, 2015
What: The Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) and Walnut Creek Downtown (WCD) kicks off the winter season on Wednesday, November 11 when ice skating starts at the 11th annual Walnut Creek on Ice in the heart of downtown at Civic Park. The partially enclosed ice rink welcomes skaters of all ages and abilities to tie on a pair of ice skates and skate daily through January 18, 2016. Families can also celebrate the season with the Children’s Winter Festival and Holiday Tree Lighting.
Walnut Creek on Ice:
November 11, 2015 – January 18, 2016
Weekday: Monday through Friday – $11/person and includes skate rental;
Fridays after 5 p.m. – $15/person and includes skate rental.
Weekend: Friday 5 p.m. through Sunday 8 p.m. – $15/person, includes skate rental; Children under three skate for free!
General Public Skating:
Monday through Thursday: Noon – 8 p.m.
Friday: Noon – 11 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Children’s Winter Festival, November 14:
Children, families, and the young-at-heart can celebrate the ice skating season with a day-long festival complete with entertainment, festive food and beverage, ice skating performances, and more.
Holiday Tree Lighting, November 28:
Special guests will flip the big switch lighting the Christmas tree adjacent to the ice rink; 5 p.m. Free!
