Wednesday Night Lights – A Super Community Celebration for the Big Game

What: Get ready for the 50th anniversary of the Big Game with family and friends in downtown Walnut Creek. Listed on sfbaysuperbowl.com, Cypress Street becomes a football field of games, food and festivities and a stage for the Bay Area’s fave yacht rockers Mustache Harbor. Walnut Creek Downtown, The City of Walnut Creek and The Bedford Gallery are partners in bringing out the best in Walnut Creek’s “Super Community!”

Here to save the day, it’s…My Hero! Experience the escapades of iconic Super Heroes with this pumped-up collection of international artworks in a variety of media at The Bedford Gallery, along with Super Hero appearances. Local cheerleaders will be handing out “Super Hero Bucks” on Cypress Street and at The Bedford Gallery to redeem at the Wednesday Night Lights event. The Bedford Gallery will offer two-for-one entry, a special gift for guests and stay open until 8 p.m. Hungry revellers can expect Food Truck Mafia’s 3 Brothers’ Kitchen, Southern Comfort Kitchen and Street Dog food trucks, craft beer on tap, local wines, Irish coffee and some tasty treats. The sweet smell of freshly popped kettle corn will fill the air as families celebrate along Cypress Street. Free hot chocolate and apple cider are available to warm up the winter night.

More fun: Back by popular demand, families can take a cozy horse and carriage ride for just $5 per person; free for children ages 6 and under. Super celebrators can also spin the “Wheel of Walnut Creek Fortune” for a chance to win fun prizes.

Where: Walnut Creek First Wednesdays takes place on Cypress Street, closed for foot traffic only between N. Main Street and Locust Street.
